MetroRod solves a problem for a Barnsley resident
January 4, 2012

MetroRod (South Yorkshire) were asked to solve a drainage leak and suspected collapsed drain on the driveway of an old lady with sight and hearing difficulties who was a tennant in a housing association property in Darfield, Barnsley, South Yorkshire. After an initial site inspection, the MetroRod engineer recommended a solution to dig-up and replace the damaged pipework.

Yorkshire Water were required to locate the stop tap and also replace the stop tap which itself was faulty. Once the MetroRod engineers were able to start the rennovation project the tennant was made to feel totally comfortable with the engineers ensuring that water supplies were cut off for a bare minimum of time and that neighbouring properties were fully informed of the works being undertaken.

The tennant was quoted as saying on numerous occasions; "Wonderful, you two lads have really put me at ease, can you come again if I have any more problems, can I ask for you two again. Marvellous."

The collapsed drain was actually found to be beneath an outbuilding, so the drain we re-routed and reinstated all within the boundary wall. The reinstatement was extremely neat and the property was left tidy, clean and in full working order.

Dave Gilbert owner of the MetroRod (South Yorkshire) business said; "Not only am I proud of the job our engineers have carried out, but we have made a vulnerable old lady feel safe and happy by an extra effort with regards to our customer satisfaction policy".
