The Team

Peter Molloy

Managing Director

Peter Joined Metro Services Group in 2003 having spent the first part of his career with Saint Gobain.  As the Commercial Director, he is responsible for our Key Account customers.

Although Peter is responsible for the growth of our national business his primary function is to act as the ‘Voice of the Customer’ within Metro Services Group and continually challenging the business to provide the optimum level of service to all of our customers.

Chris Hirst

Franchise Director

Chris has 7 years’ experience at a senior level within the Metro Services Group and 25 years’ experience working with SMEs in operational and compliance roles.

As Franchise Director, he is responsible for all franchising activities, including operational delivery and customer service issues, plus health and safety across the business. 

Lorraine Kilvert

Financial Controller

 

Lorraine is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) with 11 years’ post qualified experience. Prior to moving to Metro Services Group in 2014, Lorraine held management positions with the banking sector for 12 years.

At Metro Services Group, Lorraine is responsible for making sure the business has strong financial controls and good cash management and delivering the monthly management and annual statutory accounts.

Gillian Walker

Business Services Manager

Gill was a co-founder of Metro Rod in 1983 and in 1985. Following the successful launch of the business in the South Manchester and Staffordshire areas it expanded rapidly by franchising territories throughout the UK. Gill's background gives her an understanding of the issues faced by Franchisees and she tries to give them her full support in all aspects of running their businesses. She also holds responsibility for our employees in relation to HR issues and ensuring that they are paid on a regular basis.

When not in the office Gill's main interests are gardening and walking in the Cheshire countryside with her dog.

Laura Atkinson

Performance Improvement Manager

Laura joined Metro Services Group in 2014 as Performance Improvement Manager after previous roles within Customer Service. Laura is part of the Operations Team and provides a link between customers and our Franchise network. Her work includes complaints management, engineer training, and driving continuous improvement across the business. She is also works closely with the Health and Safety Team to monitor and improve compliance across the network

Steve Chambers

Head of Operations

Steve oversees a great deal of operational activities within our business, from sub-contractors to the franchise training.

He also ensures that the larger of our new accounts launch smoothly by briefing our franchises and engineers to ensure they are ready to support our customers 110%.

Outside of work, Steve is interested in live music and visiting different cities.

Steve Hatt

Programme Manager

Process-driven and motivated by delivery, Steve oversees a wide variety of improvement projects throughout our organisation. Steve manages IT infrastructure and software solutions, having recently worked on a major project to deliver a new works management system from the ground up.

Outside of work, Steve is somewhat obsessed with V-shaped guitars and bands nobody else has ever heard of.

Steve Fox

Operations Manager

Steve joined Metro Services Group in May 2015 to lead and drive performance within the Further Recommendations department. This followed a 15 year journey at British Gas, where he developed a wide range of skills within their outbound and inbound call centre ranging from KPI management, Leadership and Sales Growth, through to project management, engagement, resource /planning and coaching.

Since joining the company Steve has implemented a wide variety of changes and assisted in delivery of various projects whilst improving performance within the further recommendations department.

In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, Carp Fishing and following the “Mighty” Man UTD.

Gary Hitchen

Franchise Business Support Manager (South)

Gary joined Metro Services Group in 2014 after a previous career in retail and small business banking. His background gives him an understanding of commercial and management issues, enabling him to provide effective and practical support to our franchisees across all aspects of their operations and marketing.

In his spare time Gary is a football fanatic, still playing on Sundays and typically found watching his beloved Burnley FC on Saturdays.

Trevor Jones

Franchise Business Support Manager (North)

 

Trevor Joined Metro Services Group in November 2013, bringing with him over 35 years’ experience in franchising.  This gives Trevor a lot of knowledge to pass onto his franchises in developing their business, through good commercial marketing practice. Trevor takes pride in being on hand to offer all the practical and operational support that the franchisees may need.

In his spare time Trevor enjoys going to the theatre and having friends over for a good meal accompanied with a good bottle of wine. Trevor keeps being told he should go on “come dine with me”.

Katie Dorman

Credit Control Manager

Katie joined Metro Services Group in January 2016, bringing with her a 12 year portfolio of debt recovery, credit control and legal enforcement experience from a variety of industries.

Katie describes her chosen career as Marmite as you either love it or hate it; luckily for Metro Services Group she loves it.

Mike Clowes

Franchise Payment Manager

Mike joined Metro Services Group in December 2014 and his current role is to ensure franchisees are paid correctly and in a timely fashion.

His experience in credit control and invoicing is advantageous when creating payment files and a strong analytical background enables Mike to focus in on the detail.

Katie Simpson

Key Account Department Supervisor

Katie joined the Further Recommendations department in October 2007. After 8 years of being in the department she progressed to Supervisor of the Written Quotation team. Her role now involves managing and driving the team to send quotations and hit monthly financial targets.

Outside of work Katie enjoys walking, going to the gym and spending time with family and friends.

Chris Nelson

Technical Manager

Chris started his career as a Technician Apprentice with the MOD (Navy) and worked for several years providing Mechanical Engineering support for UK surface warship and submarine fleets.

He joined Metro Services Group as an engineer in 1991 and has spent the last 25 years working for a number of national Drainage and Plumbing services providers, in the roles of: Customer Services Officer, Senior Engineer and Operations Managers.

Chris enjoys time with his family and dog Harry and frequently camps and attends music festivals.

Jason Bird

Regional Sales Manager

Jason joined Metro Rod in the Summer of 2017 as a Regional Sales Manager , after various Estimator roles for major UK and European companies. In his new role with Metro Rod, Jason will be working with a number of our franchises by developing a new stream of opportunities and clients, as well as revisiting previous clients.

In his spare time, Jason enjoys keeping fit by running and partaking in extreme sports as well as enjoying the odd round of golf, and also keeps up with his long time passion for property renovation.

Luke Omeir

Operations Manager

Luke joined Metro Rod in February 2013, and moved through the departments at head office, starting in the call centre, moving into further recommendations and then operations.

Luke's role consists of maintaining new and exisitng contracts alongside the Key Account Managers, organising internal department training requirements alongside the department management, and facilitating any compliance issues within the network in a streamlined and professional manner.

Outside of work Luke enjoys outdoor activities, the occasional fishing trip, and helping out friends with their labouring works.

Steve Murray

SHEQ Advisor

Steve started work as an apprentice bricklayer in 1972, and has 45 years’ experience in the construction industry. Through a natural progression route, Steve worked through foreman and general foreman levels and into supervisory and management roles.

He has a wealth of experience in social housing, multi storey concrete framed construction, small civil engineering works, the utilities and electrical distribution industries and in flood defence. Health & Safety has always been a passion, and in 2007 diversified his career path to follow this interest.

A Chartered Construction Manager (MCIOB), Steve is also a Fellow of the ICWCI, an Incorporated Member of the APS and a Technician Member of IOSH.

Stacy Andrews

Internal Account Manager

Stacy Joined Metro Services Group in October 2007 originally working for our National Call Centre, then progressing to a member of the Key Accounts Team.

During her 10 years of service, Stacy has gained an extensive knowledge of the drainage industry. She continues to help develop the business with new and existing clients for both drainage and plumbing.   

In her spare time Stacy is an avid Arsenal supporter, enjoys holidays in the suns and spending quality time with family and friends.  

Jenny Cook

Key Account Support Executive

Currently pursuing an Executive MBA degree and a graduate in Computing, Jenny joined the company in August 2015. Jenny works with the commercial director and the key account managers to maintain good business relationships between ourselves and our clients with up to the minute data analysis and administrative support.

 

In her spare time, Jenny enjoys cooking and travelling.

Josh Marland

Key Account Manager

After progressing to Key Account Manager from his previous role as a Call Centre Supervisor, Josh now finds himself approaching new leads for work as well as liaising with existing accounts in his control.

Outside of work Josh is a proud Manchester City season ticket holder and is obsessed with The Stone Roses!

Amy Perry

Call Centre Supervisor

Always striving to provide excellent service for our clients, Amy is focussed on results and ownership of any issues through to their conclusion. Expert in deploying tasks and supporting the rest of the team, we rely on Amy to deliver consistently great results.

Amy has a passion for art, in particular, fine art. She also enjoys the live music scene.

Ben Young

Key Account Manager

Ben joined the Metro Services Group as a Key Account Manager in 2016. With nearly 10 years’ experience in the industry he has an extensive technical knowledge of the drainage network, HPWJ, jetting combination units and CCTV.

Ben comes from a combined sales and operational background having previous experience of working for various other drainage companies. During his time in the drainage industry, he has worked on contracts for Severn Trent Water, United Utilities, Anglian Water, Yorkshire Water, Network Rail and many more.

In his spare time, Ben enjoys good food and drink, holidays with his partner and he is obsessed with anything that utilises an engine.

Mark Stephens

Key Account Manager

With nearly 18 years’ experience within Metro Services Group,   Mark is customer focussed and responsible for ensuring that the highest standards of account and relationship management are delivered to an extensive portfolio of existing and new Key Account clients.

Married with two grown up children, Mark enjoys good food, cycling, skiing and World travel.

Mark Evans

Plumbing Technical Manager

Mark started his career with the Royal Navy and worked for several years on surface warships and submarines before leaving to join British Gas where he was an engineer for 7 years. He has since been involved in an M&E/Plumbing role with various Social Housing providers and within the private sector for the last 10 years.

Mark has recently joined Metro Services Group  as Plumbing Technical Support Manager to aid in the expansion of Metro Plumb specifically to support and engage with the franchisees with regards to training, planning and support. He has extensive industry knowledge of dealing with major contractors such as MITIE, Carillion and other nationwide infrastructure companies.

Mark enjoys time with his wife, three sons and dogs Oscar and Frodo and too infrequently gets to indulge his passion on cars and motorcycles.

Matthew Mulheran

Technical Support Manager (North)

Matthew only recently joined Metro Services Group but has been within the drainage sector for over 22 years, previously working for Lanes Group (Lanes for Drains). Over these years Matt has been involved in all kinds of drainage related operations but predominantly sewer lining, this gives Matt a vast and varied amount of industry based knowledge.

Matt is married with 2 young children and when not at work loves nothing better than spending time with his family, and in particular watching his son play football for his team on Sunday mornings.

Andy Sharpe

Technical Support Manager

Andy first joined Metro Services Group in 1999 as an engineer working in the Peterborough franchise, since then he has mainly owned, developed and sold successful small drainage companies. Andy joined us again in January 2016 after a period of working on the drainage systems of Spain. Although challenging at times Andy gets a real buzz out of assisting franchisees in all areas.

In his spare time Andy loves nothing more than travelling to various parts of the planet, playing golf (badly), voluntary work at his local hospice and is an avid motor racing fan.
