A GUIDE TO NO-DIG DRAIN REPAIRS — METRO ROD BRISTOL

If you are someone that worries at the thought of needing a drain repair, then Metro Rod’s non-invasive repairs are the one for you.

Drain Repair in West Yorkshire

Whether you find yourself with a leaking pipe, burst or collapsed drain, Metro Rod Bristol are on call 24/7 to help with your drain repair needs. We offer a range of drain repair techniques which have all been vetted for by the Water Research Centre so you can be sure you are getting the best service and a good quality fix.

We know that when people think of a drain repair they’ll tend to think it will require digging down to reach it. But with Metro Rod’s no-dig and trenchless repairs we are able to repair your drain without causing too much disruption to your property. We use various lining methods to patch and repair the damage to your drains, using ambient and heat linings you will get a longterm fix that wont make a huge dent in your wallet.

There are a couple of exceptions to our no-dig repairs and certain times where we have no choice but to dig down, such as a collapsed drain. If this is the case then don’t worry as we are fully qualified to excavate your drains safely and with minimal inconvenience.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR?

What causes damage to drains?

  • Root related damage, roots can grow into the tiny cracks in our drains and pipes where they then feed on the nutrients and get bigger, turning the tiny cracks into much bigger, more noticeable cracks.
  • Sun damage can cause cracks in our outside pipes, the UV rays from the sun can cause the plastic pipes to become brittle making them more likely to crack and then leak.
  • Freezing and thawing is a problem for pipes and drains - when water freezes in the pipes it will expand and can rupture the pipe, the problem then comes when the ice starts to thaw and can then cause major leaking and flooding.
  • Drains are not indestructible, so over time they will be subjected to normal wear and tear which can result in faults that need repairing.

Signs you may need a repair

  • Low water pressure could indicate either a blocked drain/pipe or in some cases there may a leak or broken pipe.
  • Increased water bills but no increase in usage may indicate a leak - you can test this by taking a water meter reading, not using any water for a couple of hours and re-checking the meter to see if its changed during this time.
  • Unpleasant odours lingering around your property are often the first sign that something is wrong with your drains, you may have a blocked drain or there’s a leak
