Metro Rod and our blocked drain services haven’t been strangers to the world of sport over the last few years. Across the National network, we have both carried out work on blocked drains as well as promote our blocked drains services through sponsorship. Notably, our London North depot have carried out pre-planned maintenance works with Arsenal Football Club at their Emirates Stadium, and our Lancashire depot have a 4 year-strong relationship with Wigan Warriors rugby league side from continuing sponsorship deals.
Us guys here at Metro Rod Manchester and Macclesfield have also got the word out about our blocked drains services having sponsored rugby union side, Sale Sharks, across the 18/19 season.

Our drainage network are extremely proud of the ties we have to sport, but now, Metro Rod Manchester and Macclesfield, along with Lancashire County Cricket Club, are about to take our blocked drains services x sporting love affair to the next level. At the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup!
Held from 30/05/19 to 14/07/19, Metro Rod Manchester and Macclesfield are due to have a dedicated drainage engineer on site at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground across all 6 match days held there (including the semi-final!), to assist the on-site maintenance team with blocked drains as well as any other reactive blockages. The engineer will have a fully equipped van pack with specialist equipment at the ready to tackle any blocked drains or toilets.
As we move throughout summer, Metro Rod Manchester and Macclesfield are also expecting to be on hand for any blocked drains at Lancashire County Cricket Club across both Twenty20 fixtures as well as one of the prestigious Ashes Test match series in September, one of which will be held in Manchester this year. We’ll have an engineer and his fully equipped van pack on site for 5 days straight to ensure blocked drains and toilets are dealt with quickly, safely and efficiently.

Back in October 2018, Metro Rod Manchester and Macclesfield’s Marketing Coordinator, Alex Clarke, set aside his blocked drain marketing workload for the evening to take part in the CEO Sleepout™, raising over £500 in the process. The event, held at Lancashire County Cricket Club, saw professionals from businesses (predominantly) across Greater Manchester get together and spend the night sleeping rough to raise money to help combat homelessness and poverty across the city.
