Meet Metro Rod Central London’s new Commercial Director

Meet Metro Rod Central London’s new Commercial Director

 drainage Metro Rod London

Metro Rod Central London is a drainage company building a reputation as market leaders in drain maintenance, drain cleaning and drain repair in the capital. We are therefore delighted to introduce our new Commercial Director Gary Hitchen who joined us in November 2018 and will be helping us drive our continued growth and help build  stronger and stronger relationships with our customers across London.

Gary was previously Business Support Manager for Metro Rod across the South of England so we are delighted that he will now be exclusively focused on Central London where he has extensive previous working experience.

"Joining Metro Rod Central London is hugely exciting for me" says Gary. "Metro Rod is in the business of being the UK's leading commercial drainage company, offering a safe, professional and honest drain care and repair service day or night and I can't think of anywhere that this is of greater importance to our customers than in London"

"London's economy accounts for 22% of the UK's GDP (see article) and is the country's massively vibrant economic hub. Businesses are busy driving the UK economy and generating prosperity so the last thing they need is disruption from  blocked drains, blocked toilets and issues with drainage generally. These things sound mundane but the loss of productivity they can cause can be severe and damaging. I see our business not just as unblocking drains or cleaning drains but rather as providing a great service to business which helps keep the London economy moving. By the way that's not to say we aren't also keen to help a householder with a single blocked sink or blocked toilet because we also serve the residents of Central London, East London and West London".

Gary highlights 3 areas which he sees as particularly important to many of Metro Rod Central London's customers:

Reactive emergency response

Every day our highly trained engineers are unblocking drains across Central London in response to emergency call-outs. We are available 24/7/365, supported by a national 24 hour Contact Centre, and our engineers will attend your emergency promptly and with a view to a first-time fix wherever possible. We understand the costs and damage to your business which can arise from a drainage problem and will react accordingly.

Pre-planned drain maintenance programmes

In many of London's large, busy commercial buildings and heavy footfall public sites it is vital that the business of the day is not interrupted by issues with blocked drains. Many of our largest commercial customers already experience the benefit of a Metro Rod pre-planned drain maintenance programme where drain cleaning at regular intervals ensures that it is always "business as usual" without costly and damaging interruptions due to drainage problems. Metro Rod has huge experience in carrying out PPM programmes out-of-hours and often involving multi-storey environments where cleaning soil-stack "vertical drainage" systems is a requirement.

CCTV drain survey

This is a key service for the construction industry which continues to transform London's skyline and working environment. Our expert engineers will provide the highest standards of inspection and reporting to enable you to have the best view possible of the condition of site underground drainage and to identify exactly what needs to be done to address any potential problems. Our drain repairs teams can then deliver the appropriate solutions for you.

If you need any drainage services from Metro Rod, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
