Since September 2018 we’ve welcomed 5 new recruits to our ever-expanding team, consisting of 3 General Drainage Assistants, 1 Super Salesman and to top it off 1 Further Recommendation guru!
As our business expands, so does our workforce and needs within the company. We have newly created the roles of a salesman along with a role for completing and following up with Further Recommendation.
Our Plumbing and Drainage Engineers are always kept busy but do along the way need a 2nd man, that’s where our GA’s come in, to assist with the jobs and make sure the operations run smoothly, meaning the engineer can do more job and stay focused on the work in hand. A second engineer is also often required for health and safety reasons. Working in drainage can be a risky job and we pride ourselves of always following the safety requirements and training all of our operatives to a high standard.
Although it is still early days, we have seen all of our new members fit in to the day to day of the business very well, we are proud to have them on board and hope they enjoy their work lives with Metro Rod North East

Ethan started with us in January 2019. He is enjoying learning new skills and things to do with drainage and looks forward to getting more experience on the job, hopefully one day going out in the van alone. Ethan is keen on his footy, and spend most time away from work training for his next match, Good Luck Ethan!
Claire came to work with us at the start of March 2019 starting with us in a new role we had created due to the volume of work needing to be processed, Claire said she loves the new challenges, every day is different. Claire also enjoyed meeting everyone at the team meeting including the breakfast roll! Thanks Tricia ? She is excited about learning more about my job role and learning new skills along the way. Fun fact about Claire? She has got 2 fur babies and both their names begin with.... B! Buster & Busta!

Barry started at Metro Rod as our brand new Sales Superhero on April 17th 2019, Since starting he said he’s really enjoyed learning more about the company and getting chance to go out in the vans with our engineers to see what they do on a daily basic and get to see the work up close before going out to meet clients, which he says he is looking forward to in the future and helping the business grow. Barry is a bit of an adrenaline junkie in his own time and chose to jump out of a plane not once but 4 times!!! He was once also ranked 3rd strongest man in Northumberland! Go on Barry!
Daniel joined us recently, Starting his first shift on 18th April 2019. He said he enjoys the variety as he’s doing something different everyday and learning new things constantly. Daniel is hoping to progress to be a Drainage Engineer in the future. (We have high hopes too!) In his spare time Daniel loves to practice Kick Boxing, Always on the go!
We’ve loved welcoming our newest members and even after a few weeks feel they have always been part of the team, we’re very positive for our future moving forward!
