We always look forward to this weekend of the year, when the Dorset County Show opens its gates in Dorchester. Every year there are hundreds of exhibitors where you can by locally made and produced items, from saddlery, jewellery, tractors, agricultural equipment, baskets, handcrafted willow craft, paintings, homewares, books, boots, clothes and there's much more, but we'd run out of space listing them all so here's a link to the exhibitors and of course amazing and delicious food stands, food to eat on the day and food to take home, cheeses, pies, locally produced meat, jams, chutneys, cakes, fudge wonderful selection of Dorset Gin, Vodka and of course cider and beer.
Along with these stands there are events going on throughout the two days to enjoy. You can visit the floral and horticultural pavilions, the heavy horse area, the cattle and sheep area watch the show jumping. There is camping available on site if you want to make a weekend of it, plenty of parking and you can purchase tickets on the day.
There is something for everyone. Have a great day or two in the Dorset countryside.
