Trainee General Assistant or Service Engineer
Job Description
Metro Rod Manchester are looking for a hard-working individual who are looking for a career in the drainage industry to join our team of on call service engineers and learn all aspects of drain and pipe clearance, inspection and repair.
As a long-established Poynton based business you will work throughout the Manchester and Cheshire east areas whilst we react to the needs of our extensive private and corporate clients.
The role requires a flexible approach to working times, on call rota and out of hour’s weekday and weekend working. Overtime is regularly available. As a General Assistant you will provide a supporting role to service engineers involved in various works and especially where health and safety or logistical requirements dictate.
Once trained, certified, and considered as being competent you will have the chance to apply to become a service engineer and responsible for your own workload, service vehicle and drainage kit.
The successful candidates will need to be over 18 years of age, physically fit and healthy with a good mechanical aptitude.
No experience is required as full training will be provided.
DBS checks are mandatory and will be conducted on all successful applicants prior to any start date.
Full clean driving licence which has been held for a minimum of 12 months is required for this role.
We will offer the following:
An annual salary starting from £23,400
A basic 45-hour week + extra non contractual allowance payments.
