The attractions arena hosts plenty of smaller events throughout the days, many of which involve horsemanship. In addition to things like side saddle performers A Bit On The Side and demonstrations from the Thames Valley Police Service, there are also dog agility with Blenheim Paws Trials and also BMX trick riding with Mobile Bike Events. The specific event Metro Rod are sponsoring is Spook Busting with Ginny Oakley Pope, which for those of you who don't know horses and immediately assumed it was something to do with ghostbusting, is a method of helping horses that are prone to shying or jumping if something frightens them. Horses are pack herbivores with eyes on the side of their heads, which is very helpful for spotting danger in the wild, but can also mean that sudden noises or shapes can be frightening to horses. A sudden jump to the side might be a normal reaction to panic, but it can unseat a rider so it's better to have a more resilient horse to ride! We are very proud to be sponsoring this attraction, which is being held on Saturday the 21st at 11:00 at the Attractions Arena.
As for Metro Rod, it is another milestone for us sponsoring the Blenheim Horse Trials for the 5th year. Add that to the 10th anniversary of our director Sues lung transplant and our 20th year in business as commercial drainage experts in Oxfordshire and we feel very fulfilled indeed!
