Emergency call outs are something our engineers are very used to at Metro Rod North Midlands & Worcester, however when we received a call at 6.30am from the Staffordshire police this morning, we knew this was even more urgent than normal.
We were made aware of a very distressed elderly client that was experiencing a burst pipe in his property that had tripped his electricity. We immediately contacted him to ensure that the burst was not damaging his property and followed up by sending our highly trained plumber Terri to the address where he was able to isolate the leak from the shower.
Once the leak was isolated our electrical pump engineer Chris attended the emergency to get the clients power back on. Not only did he ensure the gentleman’s home was safe and back up in running order, but Chris also demonstrated how wonderful our engineers are by making the man a cup of tea and didn’t leave until he was satisfied that the customer was calm and comfortable in his home.
At Metro Rod North Midlands & Worcester, our community is the most important thing to us, and so we performed all of the above services with no cost to the gentleman, as knowing he was now out of distress and safe in his house was payment enough.
With that we would like to highlight the Stress Awareness Campaign that is currently going on throughout April, with this year’s theme being ‘community’. It has been an especially difficult couple of years, and many have felt more isolated than ever. Meeting clients like the gentleman today, and simply being able to provide a small amount of comfort whilst performing our jobs is so important, one small action can make someone’s day a whole lot better, and we are extremely proud to have a team of engineers that are always willing to go above and beyond for every client they meet.
