Tony started off his career in the drainage industry in 1996 where he started off as an engineer for a small drainage company in Kent. There he learned all the basics of clearing blocked drains, carrying out CCTV surveys and repairs by excavation and drain lining. Tony then furthered his career by moving over to Metro Rod in 2003 working for the London South East franchise. There, he dedicated himself to improving his skills and attended certified courses in order to follow correct procedures for working safely.
In 2006 Tony left the Metro Rod network to further develop his skills in sales and marketing with a Times top 100 company. He used this opportunity to develop his skills in customer services and satisfaction.
In 2012 Tony was approached to come back into the Metro Rod network where he was General Manager for the Metro Rod London South franchise. Tony was the direct manager to over 40 employees which included manual and office based staff.
In 2013 Tony decided to take over the Metro Rod (Brighton & Gatwick) franchise. Since officially opening on the 08th of July 2013 there has been some considerable changes including a training development plan for all staff in customer services, further development in quality CCTV surveys and reports and new up-to-date equipment to enable a better quality service to all customers. He opened his Metro Plumb franchise in 2016.
Deborah is our Director and comes from a long career in teaching. Although this is a new direction for Deborah, we are all excited for her new challenge.
Kevin is our operations Manager and has many years’ experience in the clearing and repairing of drainage systems and his knowledge of excavation and drain lining is second to none. Kevin is a very polite, efficient and a hardworking engineer.
We are very proud to have Kevin as part of our team and we look forward to continuing to work with him in the future.
Lauren is Metro Rod (Brighton & Gatwick’s) marketing assistant whose role consists of supporting the Directors on the effective delivery of the medium and long term marketing plans.
Lauren will be involved in all aspects of marketing and expected to implement all the marketing strategies.
Other responsibilities and duties include managing and updating all social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google+ as well as the company website.
Megan has recently joined our team after previously working for AXA Assistance, dealing with customers' household emergencies such as burst water pipes. Megan’s role is to make sure that the day-to-day office tasks are completed effectively, and that all relevant people are kept fully informed of job details as well as keeping information and the job database in order and up to date. She also keeps the engineers informed of what jobs they have and at what time.
Lisa is new administrative assistant to the Metro Rod Brighton & Gatwick Team. Being an administrative assistant is all about making sure that the day-to-day office tasks are completed effectively and ensuring jobs are organised effectively.
Before Lisa worked for a courier company called Streetwise. Lisa worked there for six years, and in that time moved up within the company to customer experience manager. Lisa also has 20 years’ experience in customer service.
JOANNA WEBB RUDDOCK
Jo is a Back Office Administrative which is a specialised administrative assistant role to deal with specific duties relating to the admin of three key elements of our business. Jo’s is also in charge of CCTV Surveys to complete them once the engineers have uploaded the CCTV survey to our system. Which then Jo can watch and ensure that all faults in the line are recorded. PPM’s are also another part of Jo’s role to oversee and ensure that PPM’s are organised to be completed within the deadline.
Jo has been here since October 2016, before she worked at Asda from the age of 16 - part time while studying and then later did a management scheme which she passed and then became the manager of Asda. Jo was there for 10 years and then became a Customer Service Executive at G4S for 9 years then wanted a career change and became a back office administrative in Drainage at Metro Rod.
Lucy’s role is to ensure that all administrative tasks in the office are completed correctly and efficiently, and that all of the relevant people are kept fully informed of job details. She is now on Maternity leave.
Gary is one of our longest serving engineers and has been with the company for many years now. Gary is experienced in HPWJ, confined spaces drain re-lining and excavation work. Gary is a very polite and punctual individual and we are proud to have him as part of our team.
Dannhie La Roche
Dannhie has worked for the Brighton and Gatwick office since October 2014 but comes from within Metro Rod where he was carrying out CCTV surveys on the Thames Water contract. Dannhie is our lead engineer of Kent he is responsible for the other engineers in kent and if any of the engineers have problems they go to him. Dannhie has 6 years experince in drainage and is fully qualified in HPWJ, Confined Spaces, Streetworks, Asbestos Awareness, Food hygiene, Cat & Genny, Plumbing and Petrol Courts. Dannhie has been trained by Metro Rod to deliver a fast friendly service.
Geoff has just recently going the team and will be an engineer for the Brighton Area. He has 20 years experience in the drainage industry and in the past worked for himself.
Richard is a very experienced plumber for the Brighton Area. He has 25 years experience in plumbing and started learning the basics from his father who was also a plumber. Richard then went on to do an apprenticeship with City & Guilds, and went to work for a Waterboard for 12 years.
Gary is a new drainage engineer who has recently joined the team and will be covering the Kent area. He is a brilliant addition to our team as he has 27 years experince in the drainage industry under his belt.
Ed is a general assistant and his role is to carry out basic operational duties including laboring and assisting other staff in the support of a reliable operation in the provision of services to agreed company standards.
Chris has recently joined the Metro Rod Brighton & Gatwick Team. Chris did work for us before and left, and has now returned. He is an engineer for the Brighton & Gatwick area.
Alex is one of our engineers that operates in the Kent area, and has been a part of our team since the beginning of 2017.
He has been in the drainage industry for over 19 years now, and has a wide knowledge of potential problems and their solutions.
Alex is fully qualified in HPWJ, NRWSA, Confined Spaces, CSCS, Asbestos Awareness and much more, making him a credit to the Metro Rod (Brighton & Gatwick) team, and often finds himself utilising these skills in various fields ranging from railway and power stations, through to domestic works.
Anthony joins our team with many years’ experience within drainage and plumbing.
