Metro Rod recently attended to a property in Newport - the job was carried out on behalf of the property owner's home insurance provider. The property owner had reported a blocked drain in his garden that had started to overflow and cause his toilet to block.

"The initial call at 3pm was to my insurance company as I had a below ground drainage problem. By 5.30pm, a Metro Rod service engineer from the Newport & Hereford office was on site. In little over an hour the problem was solved in the most cheerful and willing manner. Old drainage system not an issue for our engineers

Our engineers were recently called to investigate a blocked drain at a property built in the 1940s, located in Ebbw Vale. The old drainage system had posed some problems for the homeowner that was causing repeated blockages. The homeowner enlisted our services after searching for a reputable drainage company on Google.

Magic drainage wand fixes the problem

Our engineer was recently called to a drainage problem in the beautiful village of Llangynidr, nestled in the idyllic Brecon Beacons National Park. We were met with a block of toilets regularly used by walkers who tread the footpaths alongside the Monmouthshire & Brecon canal - all the toilets were blocked.

"We had an issue with a set of toilets that had been blocked for about 5 weeks, each time we cleared the problem it would block again. We called Metro Rod out to hopefully fix the problem permanently. Daniel from the office was very polite and helpful and informed me that someone would be out the next day. Legends of the drainage industry

Our engineers attended a property in Crickhowell to deal with a blocked drain - as with many customers we encounter, they had already utilised the services of another drainage provider who had failed to rectify their problem completely.

The engineers carried out some drain tracing prior to high pressure water jetting of a blocked manhole - after clearing the blockage we used our CCTV drainage camera to inspect the pipework. Our investigate skills paid off - we found a damaged section of pipework that had been the cause of the customers repeated blockages. We quoted to fix the problem and returned to the property the following week to carry out the repair - leaving the customer safe in the knowledge that her drainage problems had come to an end.

Our engineer attended to a property Brecon to unblock a drain in the homeowner's garden. The problem had caused her toilet to block and subsequently spill over in to the garden due to a blocked manhole. We attended the same day at a time that was convenient with the customer.

Problem solved by Metro Rod

Our engineer attended a property in Pontypool to deal with a long-standing drainage problem affecting the downstairs toilet. The homeowner had battled with the problem for over 2 years, enlisting the services of other drainage companies who failed to resolve the issue with the blocked drain once and for all. The homeowner called our office - a mutually convenient date and time was arranged to attend.

On the morning of our visit we called the homeowner to confirm our attendance - the engineer arrived and proceeded to investigate the long-standing issue.

"After battling for over 2 years with repeated blockages affecting my downstairs toilet, your engineer was here for 2 hours and did everything he could to solve the blocked drain. He found a buried manhole in my garden that no one was aware of, uncovered it, and cleared a blockage that must have been there for a very long time. Such a lovely person - a credit to your company."

We pride ourselves on our never give-up attitude. We work by the mantra of approaching each situation with an open mind with no pre-conceived assumptions of what we might encounter. In this particular situation the previous drainage companies that the homeowner had used had missed the fact that there was a buried manhole in the garden which had been blocked the entire time. We exposed the offending manhole prior to carrying out high pressure water jetting of the drain to remove the blockage - leaving the customer extremely satisfied.
