We’re incredibly proud to announce that Metro Rod Lancashire has been named as a finalist for Business of the Year at the 2026 Wigan Business Awards.
For the third consecutive year, we’ll be joining some of the fantastic businesses that make up the Wigan business community at the awards – and this year feels particularly special.
Back in 2024, we were delighted to take home Trade Business of the Year. It was a fantastic achievement for the whole team and a real reflection of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes at Metro Rod Lancashire.
Now, two years later, we’ve found ourselves in the final for Business of the Year – something we’re incredibly proud of.
A special achievement for our director, Jo.
The Wigan Business Awards have become a big part of our journey over the last three years, and a huge part of that is down to our Director, Jo Yates.
Jo has thrown herself into the campaign from the very beginning. Whether it’s nominating other businesses, taking part in judging, sponsoring the awards, supporting fellow finalists or putting Metro Rod forward for recognition, she has always been keen to get involved.
And it’s not simply because she wants to see Metro Rod succeed.
Jo genuinely enjoys being part of the Wigan business community and celebrating the achievements of other local businesses. Over the years, that involvement has seen her build some great relationships and become a familiar face within the Wigan Business Awards.
The Wigan Business Awards team have recognised this too, describing Jo as a huge part of the WBA family and highlighting the energy and enthusiasm she brings to the campaign.
As a team, we couldn’t be prouder of Jo and the way she represents all the staff here at Metro Rod Lancashire.
Her passion for the business, her commitment to our team and the relationships she has built within the local community are a huge part of what makes Metro Rod Lancashire what it is today.

For us, being named a finalist isn’t just about the title.
Metro Rod Lancashire has continued to grow over the years, and with that comes a growing team, new customers, new challenges and plenty to be proud of.
Every day, our engineers are out supporting businesses across Wigan and Lancashire, from emergency drainage call-outs to planned maintenance, CCTV surveys, tanker services, drainage repairs and much more.
Being recognised as a finalist gives us an opportunity to celebrate the people behind that work.
From our engineers out on the road to the office team keeping everything running behind the scenes, this achievement belongs to the whole Metro Rod Lancashire team.
