In October, we gathered for our highly anticipated Metro Rod and Metro Plumb Annual Conference 2025, held at the stunning Celtic Manor in South Wales.
Franchisees from across the UK, support centre staff, senior management from Metro Rod and Franchise Brands, and even special guest John Michals, CEO of Filta Group, who flew in from the US, came together for a weekend of motivation, connection, and appreciation.
We attended with 33 sponsors, including I-Touch, CVM, and Capital Fleet Solutions, who showcased innovative products and shared valuable industry insights with our teams.
Kicking Off with a Cause: “Miles for a Mission”:
The conference began with an inspiring initiative – “Miles for a Mission” – where Chris McCauley of Capital Fleet Solutions ran from Portsmouth to Newport to raise funds for two charities chosen by our franchise network. A heartfelt thank you to Chris for this incredible achievement and to all who supported the cause.
A Conference of Inspiration: “Love your Brand, Love your Customer, Love your Team”:
The conference, hosted by Stephen Chambers QFP, CEO of Metro Rod and Metro Plumb, revolved around a powerful theme:
“Love your Brand, Love your Customer, Love your Team.”
It set the tone for a day of reflection, recognition, and forward-thinking.
Celebrating Our Stars: The Awards Evening
The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the Awards Evening – a celebration of the dedication, hard work, and passion of the individuals and teams that make up our incredible network. From family-run businesses to husband-and-wife teams and exceptional employees, we honoured the very best.
Some of the top accolades included:
- Hero of the Year (Employee)
- Most Motivated Franchise
- Franchise of the Year
We were especially proud of ourselves here at the Lancashire depot based in Wigan, as we walked away with two prestigious awards:
Hero of the Year: Awarded to Jamie Harrison, a true ambassador for the business. Jamie’s commitment to sharing best practice, delivering excellent service, and advocating for mental health support makes him a standout leader. Out of 1,500 employees, Jamie was one of just seven honoured with this title.
Franchise of the Year: Congratulations to Jo and Mike Yates and the entire Metro Rod Lancashire team. With over 16 years of trading, they were recognised for their passion, determination, and consistent service excellence. Their strong results month after month are a testament to their leadership and teamwork.
Stephen Chambers, CEO, praised the Lancashire team:
“I also want to acknowledge how hard the last couple of years have been with so many changes, yet you’ve continued to push yourselves and your team forward. Your resilience and determination are qualities I deeply respect. Your openness and partnership make a real difference.”

We are immensely proud of each and every one of them and are excited for what lies ahead.”
