Resolution of Persistant Blocked Drains for a Contact Centre
Challenge
Our client was experiencing persistent drain blockages, leading to repeated disruptions and inefficiencies. Our team was engaged to diagnose the problem and, following recommendations, deliver a permanent solution by carrying out detailed excavation, pipe lining, and manhole installation works across a 3-day period.
Overview of Work
- Excavation of pipe system (900mm – 1200mm depth, 15m distance)
- Installation of a 100mm x 10m drag liner
- Construction of new upstream and downstream manholes
- Installation of new pipework to eliminate recurrent blockages
Day 1: Site Preparation
- Arrived on site and initiated excavation and preliminary checks as quoted
- Cleared and prepared the site, setting up barriers and identifying work zones
Day 2: Excavation & Manhole Installation
- Excavated to the specified depth and installed the first new manhole
- Addressed blockages caused by inadequate existing access points
- Deployed large Picote equipment to assist with clearance and preparation
Day 3: Liner & Pipework Installation
- Installed a 100mm x 10m drag liner within the cleaned pipe system
- Constructed the second manhole and laid new pipework downstream
- Conducted final tests to ensure free-flowing drainage and long-term stability
Outcome
Thanks to thorough preparation and the right tools, our team resolved the underlying drainage issues by replacing faulty infrastructure with durable, high-performance alternatives. The newly installed manholes and relined pipes now allow for smooth, uninterrupted flow – eliminating prior blockage issues.
