It’s International Beatle Week 2019 at the moment.
Being based in Liverpool and working in the great city daily we feel that we have a strong association with the Beatles. We often work at the places that they played or went to and work and maintain the drainage facilities at many other places associated with them (and at least one of our staff has a hair style that looks a bit like a mop top!!)
In case you’re not already aware, International Beatle Week is a celebration of ‘the most famous band in the world’ in Liverpool, the city where it all began. Back in 1977 Beatleweek started as a 2 day event in Mr Pickwick’s Club in Fraser Street, Liverpool and it included guest speakers, screenings and of course, live music. Beatleweek has gone through many changes over the years and nowadays it is organised by Cavern City Tours and attracts thousands of music enthusiasts to the area for this special event.
In the office here at Metro Rod we have tried to come up with some Beatle-esque drainage terms, please be aware, they’re not great!
Suggestions have included:
- “I want to hold your sonde”
- “Love me poo”
- “I saw her jetting there”
- “From me to poo”
- “I should have known wetter”
- “I’m only jetting”
- “All my flooding”
- “Jet it be”
- “The long and lining road”
- “Please patch me”
- “A day in the wipe”
Luckily, our drainage skills are much better than our ‘song title re-writing skills’!
