We’re continuing to grow and we’re expanding our workforce to keep up with the ever increasing demands for our services in Swansea and West Wales.
Matthew joined us at Metro Rod Swansea as Drainage Assistant this month and we’ll be working hard to get him trained up to our high standards as quickly as possible. Matthew will be out on the road helping our engineers and learning the expert skills needed to be the best in this sector. He will also be responsible for producing our CCTV reports and offer general support in the office. We’re looking forward to developing another long-term and valuable member of the team.
Ian Williams, Director, Metro Rod Swansea commented: ‘It’s great to have Matthew on board with us! We’re constantly on the look out for current and future talent in the drainage world, up-skilling and training those that join us to ensure we’re leading the market. We are particularly in Wales that there is some funding available to help with recruitment and development of the younger generation, and this time we are taking full advantage of Jobs Growth Wales to expand our workforce and invest in our staff development.’
As of June 2015, Welsh Government confirmed £25 million of European funding had been approved to support the continuation of the Jobs Growth Wales programme. The investment aims to support the creation of 8,955 new job opportunities for 16-24 year olds over 3 years. The programme will continue to provide unemployed young people with a job for six months which will be paid at or above the National Minimum Wage. The intention is that all jobs will be sustained by the host employer after the 6 month period has been completed. For further information you can visit the Business Wales website here.
Metro Rod Swansea will continue to invest and develop its staff to ensure a first class and guaranteed service for our domestic and commercial customers in Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.
