What’s Included in Drain Maintenance Plan?

A scheduled drainage maintenance service, also known as pre-planned maintenance, is a service agreement for regular commercial drain cleaning and inspections. Our engineers evaluate your specific requirements, determine optimal maintenance intervals, and design a tailored schedule to minimise disruptions to your operations.

A typical commercial drain maintenance service may include:

Why is Pre-Planned Drain Maintenance Important?

Drainage issues are often out of sight and out of mind, quietly building up until they become a problem. Emergency drainage services can be time-consuming, disrupt operations, and cause safety concerns for both staff and customers. By scheduling your drain maintenance with Metro Rod in advance, you control when work is carried out, minimising any interruption to your business.

Pre-planned, preventive drain maintenance also helps your business stay compliant with legal and environmental regulations. Regular checks ensure your drains, gullies, grease traps and other systems remain in excellent working condition, supporting smooth and safe operations.

Drain Maintenance FAQs

What are the signs that there could be a problem with my drainage system?

Signs of drainage system issues can range from minor to severe. Initial indicators often include visible leaks, patches of marshy ground above drain lines, or unpleasant odours. More significant problems might manifest as blockages or slow-draining sinks and toilets. If you observe any of these warning signs, its essential to have your drainage system inspectedas they may signal more extensive system issues.

What problems can occur with my drain without drain maintenance?

Drainage problems build up over time. Whether due to tree root intruding into the system, vermin, or unflushable items such as face wipes and kitchen roll being flushed down the system. Those issues include blockages, leaks, cracks, and, in extreme scenarios, collapsed drainpipes.

How often should I have routine drain maintenance?

The frequency of routine drain maintenance depends on your system’s setup and usage. The number of users and the size of your system determine how quickly wear builds up. For instance, a large office block will need more frequent checks than a residential home. Routine maintenance is typically recommended every 6 to 12 months, but this timeline may vary depending on your specific needs.

How much does drain maintenance cost?

At Metro Rod, we focus on affordable and comprehensive drain maintenance services that deliver value without exceeding your budget. The cost of your maintenance plan depends on the services included, but we are committed to providing solutions that are both efficient and cost-effective.

Customer Reviews

Here's what our customers say about us

    John Newell

Messaged Metro Rod in Dartford for a price to unblock my drain and had a call early Read moreevening to arrange a follow up the next morning as it wasn't an emergency. Received and email with a price and availability first thing and arranged a visit. Liam arrived early afternoon and after a short while he established that the fault lay further up the drainage lines. He said that as it wasn't within my property it was something that Thames Water needed to investigate so he contacted them straight away to raise a job and then to my surprise, informed me that there wouldn't be a charge from him attending! Completely amazed! Thames Water arrived early evening and after 3 - 4 hours they managed to clear the blockage from one of the main sewage junctions. Huge thanks to Liam and Metro Rod for an amazing service and won't have any hesitation in recommending them for any work in the future.
