Once the network had been cleaned, detailed CCTV surveys were undertaken using specialist crawler and push-rod camera systems to verify pipe conditions and confirm the suitability of the proposed drain repairs.
During the initial stages of the programme, a seized manhole chamber prevented access to a key section of the drainage network. To maintain progress, the chamber was carefully broken out and made accessible, enabling the rehabilitation works to continue safely and efficiently. Throughout the project, the team remained flexible and adapted to operational challenges, including restricted working areas and access limitations commonly encountered on live construction sites.
The drain repair works included the installation of multiple CIPP lining and patch-repair solutions throughout the defective drainage network. Approximately 70 metres of cured-in-place pipe liner was installed to structurally rehabilitate major sections of pipework, while additional patch liners were installed to repair isolated defects identified during the surveys. Following installation and curing, robotic cutting equipment was used to reinstate lateral connections and restore full functionality to the network.
