At Metro Rod Coventry & Leicester, supporting the communities we work in is an important part of how we operate
That is why we are proud to be supporting Leicester United FC, helping the club continue the work it does across grassroots and inclusive football.
Recently, we had the opportunity to see the Leicester United U11s out on the pitch in their new kit, complete with Metro Rod across the front of their shirts.
It was a great moment for everyone involved and a chance to see first-hand what the sponsorship is helping to support.
Supporting grassroots football in Leicester
Grassroots football plays an important role in communities across the country.
For young players, being part of a football team is about much more than what happens during a match. It gives children the opportunity to stay active, make friends, develop confidence and learn the importance of teamwork.
Clubs such as Leicester United also rely on the continued commitment of coaches, volunteers, parents and supporters who give their time to make these opportunities possible.
Through our sponsorship of the U11s, we are pleased to be able to contribute towards the club and support the work taking place behind the scenes.
Seeing the team wearing their new shirts and enjoying their football is exactly why we wanted to get involved.
Supporting football for different ages and abilities
Our relationship with Leicester United extends beyond the U11s.
Metro Rod Coventry & Leicester is also supporting two of the club’s inclusive adult teams, competing at Red and Green level within the Leicestershire Disability League.
This was particularly important to us.
We want our community partnerships to support opportunities for people of different ages and abilities, and Leicester United’s commitment to inclusive football is something we are very pleased to be associated with.
Together, our sponsorship covers three teams:
- Leicester United FC U11s
- Leicester United FC Inclusive Adult Team – Red Level
- Leicester United FC Inclusive Adult Team – Green Level
More than putting our name on a shirt
Of course, seeing the Metro Rod name on the kit is something we are proud of.
But for us, the partnership is about considerably more than advertising.
As a local business serving Coventry, Leicester and the surrounding communities, we believe businesses should look for opportunities to contribute to the places in which they operate.
